GREEN PEA AND POTATO BAKE

This is a classical Bulgarian dish, which is delicious, nutritive and it smells gorgeous. You should definitely try this recipe of baked green pea and potatoes!

Ingredients

  • 500-600 g potatoes
  • 2 Carrots
  • 1 onion
  • 300-400 g green peas frozen or canned
  • 1 cups canned chopped tomatoes or tomato sause or fresh tomatoes
  • 3 tbs olive oil
  • 1 tbs dried mint
  • 1 cups Water
  • Salt by taste
  • black pepper by taste

Instructions

  • Peel and cut the onion on fine small pieces. Peel and cut the potatoes and the carrots into cubes as big as 1 cm.
  • Fry the onion and the carrots in olive oil for about 5 minutes on medium heat. After that put the potatoes there and mix them well.
  • Pour the tomatoes, add water, add the green peas and the spices. Let them simmer.
  • Preheat the oven. When the potatoes are almost boiled, put the dish to a shape suitable for the oven bake it on 200°C. The dish will be ready when the potatoes are absolutely boiled and the whole liquid has evaporated.

Notes

If it’s needed you can add more water.
