Ingredients

  • 100 g Dark chocolate
  • 100 g Milk chocolate
  • 200 g Tea biscuits
  • 1 tablespoon Frangelico liquor or other
  • 90 g Unsalted butter
  • 50 g Nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds or mixed)
  • 50 g Dried fruits (apricots, cranberries, plum)
  • 6 tablespoons Milk
  • Powdered suger for dusting

Instructions

  • Place the nuts in a single layer on a baking pan or sheet and put in the oven on 180° C.
  • Roast for 5-10 minutes until turning golden brown.
  • Remove the pan and let cool down. In the meantime break the biscuits into 1-2 cm chunks and cut the fruits in pieces and put in a medium sized bow.
  • Cut the nuts and add to the biscuit-fruit mix.
  • In a pan add the chocolate, milk, liquor, and butter and warm up on a medium heat until chocolate has melted.
  • Pour the melted chocolate in the bow and mix thoroughly. Let the mixture cool for 20-30 minutes in the fridge.
  • Put a plastic wrap on the kitchen counter surface and spread the mixture. Shape into a log using a spatula and roll up like a candy and put it in the fridge for 2 hours.
  • After chilling remove the paper and dust all sides with powdered sugar. Cut into pieces and serve.

Notes

* You can keep the chocolate salami in the fridge for few days or in the freezer for a longer period. You will need to dust every time before serving if you want it to look as a salami. Do not forget to leave for some time at a room temperature in you have kept it in the freezer.
