Seitan au vin

Seitan is a high-protein product of wheat flour that replaces meat. Try this recipe for finger-licking wine kebab!

Ingredients

  • 300 g seitan marinated
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 100 g button mushrooms optional
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbs vegetable seasoning
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 stalk of fresh rosemary

Instructions

  • Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Sauté in olive oil on medium heat. Dice the seitan and the mushrooms and add to the pan, let it simmer.
  • Pour in the red wine, add water, spices and rosemary.
  • Allow the meal to simmer for about 30 minutes, the sauce should reduce and thicken. If it’s not thick enough, you can help it a little by adding a tablespoon of flour.
