Crispy Air Fryer Tofu

This crispy air fryer tofu is a great addition to salads, stir fries and Thai curries. You will love it!

Ingredients

  • 400 g firm tofu natural or with almonds
  • 4 tbs soy sauce
  • 2 tbs sesame oil or other oil
  • 2 cloves garlic pressed or minced
  • pinch chili flakes optional

Instructions

  • First, press the tofu. As I do not have a tofu-press, I wrap it in a kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top of it. This is to allow the liquid to come out and then become crispy. I leave it like that for 15 minutes. Use a tofu-press if you have one.
  • Put the rest of the ingredients in a small bowl and mix them well. Then put it in a bowl or a small rectangular pan
  • Cut the tofu into cubes with a side of about 1 cm and arrange them in the bowl with the marinade. Leave it to marinate for 10-15 minutes, and having more time, let it marinate longer. Turn the cubes every few minutes so that they absorb the marinade evenly. During this time, turn on the air fryer to heat up to 190°C.
  • Arrange the tofu cubes in the basket of the fryer in a single row and if possible leave some space between them. Bake them for 10–12 minutes by 190 °C (375 °F) until golden.
