Ingredients needed for the crispy tofu salad
For the salad
- 250 g mixed salad greens or other leafy greens
- 150 g tofu
- 1 carrot grated
- 1 red pepper sliced
- 1 handful of roasted peanuts
For the dressing
- 2 tbs sesame oil
- 3 tbs peanut butter
- 1 tbs maple syrup or other sweetener
- 1 tbs rise vinegar
- 1 tbs soy sauce
- 1 clove garlic pressed
I spontaneously prepared this salad with tofu many years ago, but it turned out very well, and I have adapted it again and again. In the past, I rarely cooked anything with tofu. But then I was constantly looking for ways to make it tastier and discovered many new recipes.
I have further developed this salad with tofu and now it is so perfect for me – Asian-inspired flavour, tasty, a bit spicy, and with a certain crunch. The dressing tastes very similar to Asian peanut sauce, and I often use leftover peanut sauce to make this salad. You can season your tofu with many different spices and marinades. I seasoned it with the typical Asian taste of soy sauce and sesame oil, but it also tastes great with curry or a sweet and sour sauce. You can experiment with the spices, the preparation technique is the same. I hope you like it.

Crispy Tofu Salad
Ingredients
For the salad

- 150 g tofu

For the dressing

- 3 tbs peanut butter

- 1 tbs rise vinegar
- 1 tbs soy sauce
- 1 clove garlic pressed
Instructions
- Wrap the tofu in a kitchen towel and put a heavy object on top of it. In this way, we’ll get the water out of the tofu to make it crispy. Leave for 10-15 minutes.
- Cut the tofu into cubes, put them in a bowl, add the selected spices and mix well. Fry the tofu cubes on high heat in a little oil for 5 minutes. Then transfer to a tray and roast for 10 minutes in a preheated oven.
- Now put the washed salad greens, carrot, peppers in a salad bowl. Put the peanuts and pieces of tofu on top.
- Mix the ingredients for the dressing, pour it over the salad. Bon appétit!
