Ingredients needed for this delicious Vegan Chocolate Mouse
- 400 g silken tofu
- 50 g dark chocolate (70% Cocoa or higher)
- 1 ripe avocado
- 10-15 fresh Dates
Like many other recipes on the blog, this recipe for vegan chocolate mousse is an inspiration after a dinner out at a favourite restaurant. There is a wonderful vegan restaurant in Sofia (the capital of my home country Bulgaria) with very original and interesting vegan cuisine… Last summer we were there and for dessert, we ate a unique chocolate mousse with silken tofu and banana. I immediately imagined what the ingredients were. I knew I would like the taste even more without the banana taste but with some fresh fruit maybe.
The idea for my version of the vegan chocolate mousse was born. It was not long ago when I came across silken tofu (Silken Tofu) in an organic store in the area where I live. Silken tofu (or soft tofu) is very different from standard hard tofu. Silken Tofu has high water content and has a pudding-like texture. It has a creamy, smooth, and relatively neutral taste. Silken tofu is suitable for soups, creams and mousses, baked desserts, and also for dressings.
I’m just starting to experiment with this product and I’m sure I’ll find many ways to use it in my recipes.
